- League of Fire has announced the 3rd European Belt Match will take place at the Fiera Mondiale del Peperoncino on 2 September 2023, in Rieti, Italy.
- I have been invited back as special guest to appear at the festival by the Fiera Mondiale del Peperoncino organisation, where I’ll also be hosting the 3rd European Belt Match with Arturo ‘Mr.Spicy’ Rencricca.
- Kris ‘The Scoville Unit’ Fragale has just announced a sponsorship deal with Old Agness Store.
- League of Fire announced the Regional Champion to replace me against Greg ‘Iron Guts’ Barlow will be the two-time Americas Champion Mike ‘The Molten Moose’ Jack at the next World Title Belt Match which is to be held at the 8th Annual NZ Hot Sauce Festival on 27 May 2023, in Auckland, NZ.
- Brandon ‘Honey Boy’ Collins and Zachary ‘The Texas Hot Spot’ Goot went head-to-head to set a new League of Fire World Record for The UNBEARABLE ONE Challenge by Old Agness Store. Zachary successfully finished 11, taking the previous WR of 10 from Kris ‘The Scoville Unit’ Fragale. Brandon managed 12 and now holds the LOF WR.
- League of Fire has sent out invitations to players from 11 countries: Austria, Netherlands, Hungary, Spain, Germany, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, England, Scotland, and Wales, to go into a live draw for a place in the 3rd European Belt Match. The draw will be held on Saturday, 1 April 2023, to determine the final line-up of 7 contestants alongside reigning champion Giancarlo ‘Jack Pepper’ Gasparotto, Diamante champion Carmelo Francavilla, and Rieti champion Anna ‘Lucky Dragon’ Rej, taking the total to 10, who will be battling it out for the coveted Blue Bird.
- League of Fire has added 3 challenge rules applicable to all challenges and effective 15 March 2023:
- No spitting or drooling – if you’re producing saliva, make sure you swallow it!
- No waiting in excess of 1 minute after burn time during back-to-back challenges.
- No covering of mouth with tissue/napkin or some such. Wiping of face, nose, and/or mouth is acceptable.
- Professor of Pain László Diczkó has a new blog called The Trinidad, The Moruga & The Scorpion on the League of Fire website.
- Fire Dragon Chillies has announced the League of Fire Oceania Belt will be up for grabs at the 13th Annual NZ Chilli Eating Champs Finale at the 8th Annual NZ Hot Sauce Festival on 27 May 2023, in Auckland, NZ.
- Harvest912 has announced a brand new challenge to be introduced into the League of Fire called Maddy’s Holy Cowlick which is a Cinnamon Lollipop made with 7-Pot Primo powder and 16 million SHU extract. “Think Fireball on steroids!” The League Table will be live soon after challenge evaluation, finalisation of rules, and assignment of point value by the League of Fire Testing Group.
- League of Fire has announced a Loyalty Card for challenge LIVES on League of Fire Challenge Group. 10 Challenge ‘LIVES’ will earn a player 1 Challenge Gift.
- Fire Dragon Chillies has announced a small change in the Heats Programme for the 13th Annual NZ Chilli Eating Champs. There will be 8 Heats; the winner from each will take a seat at the Grand Finale at the 8th Annual NZ Hot Sauce Festival to decide the ultimate Champion who will win the LOF Oceania Belt on 27 May 2023, in Auckland, NZ. The Heats now with Dunedin date and venue confirmed are as follows:
- Heat 1 – Up In Smoke BB Fest, Ngatea, 18 February.
- Heat 2 – Brewtown BBQ Fest, Upper Hutt, 11 March.
- Heat 3 – Southern Spice, Christchurch, 25 March.
- Heat 4 – Rose & Crown, Palmerston North, 20 April.
- Heat 5 – Beer & Bacon Festival, Sweatshop Brew Kitchen, Auckland, 22 April.
- Heat 6 – Dish Bar + Cafe, Dunedin, 6 April.
- Heat 7 – Opononi Hotel, Hokianga, 8 April.
- Heat 8 – Brewaucracy, Hamilton, 29 April.
- Dylan, Late For Work’ Guerin has set a new League of Fire World Record for Trouble Bubble Bubble Gum Challenge by CaJohns Fiery Foods. He successfully finished 10, taking the previous WR of 7 from Mr. Brad Worden.
- Newcastle Chilli Festival is taking place on 30 April 2023, in Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

- League of Fire is to launch a new League Table for the outstanding Belgium-based Fonsies Insane Hot Sauce. This will be the Fonsies Insane Roulette Challenge which has been revamped especially for League of Fire. This challenge comes with a warning on the website: “6 bullets ranging from very hot to extremely hot. Do you dare to take on the hottest challenge of Fonsies so far? BEWARE EXTREMELY SPICY! Not for sensitive souls.”
